Acer: Chromebooks 5% to 10% of Sales; Windows 8 Not Successful

Acer President Jim Wong tells Bloomberg News that Chromebooks are 5% to 10% of sales since November and that he believes the ratio to be sustainable in the long term.

“Windows 8 itself is still not successful,” said Wong, whose company posted a 28 percent drop in fourth-quarter shipments from a year earlier. “The whole market didn’t come back to growth after the Windows 8 launch, that’s a simple way to judge if it is successful or not.”

Wow, if Acer is doing that well (the C7 was always in the Amazon top 100 Laptops), just imagine how well the Samsung ARM-based Chromebook is doing, (it has been the #1 Amazon laptop since it released).
